Check a certificate of analysis against your own limits
Paste the values from any COA, set your specification limits, and get a pass/fail review with margins — plus a production-batch total adjusted for the purity on the report. Nothing you paste leaves your browser.
1. Paste values from your certificate of analysis
One line per result, e.g. Purity: 98.7% or Lead (Pb): 0.4 ppm.
2. Set your specification limits
3. Review against your limits
| Analyte | Measured | Limit | Status | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Purity | – | ≥ 99 % | NOT MEASURED | No value found in the COA. |
| Lead | – | ≤ 1 ppm | NOT MEASURED | No value found in the COA. |
4. Batch total & purity adjustment
The amount per serving is the active amount. It is divided by purity to find the raw material required.
Purity-adjusted batch total (raw material required)
1500 g
No purity entered; treated as 100%.
Per unit: 15 g · Active content in batch: 1500 g
Why check a COA against limits?
A certificate of analysis lists measured values: purity, assay, heavy metals, residual solvents. Whether a value is acceptable depends on the limits you set — purity has a minimum, heavy metals a maximum. This tool turns that comparison into a pass/fail table so you can see every margin at a glance, and flags values that have no limit yet.
How the purity adjustment works
The amount per serving is the activeamount you want in the product. If your COA shows 98.7% purity, delivering 500 mg of active content per serving needs roughly 506.6 mg of raw material per serving. The batch calculator divides the active amount by the purity percentage so the batch total shows the raw material you actually need, alongside the active content it will deliver.
Reading the review
- PASS / FAIL — a measured value is compared to your limit, with the margin shown.
- UNCERTAIN — a value reported as “below detection” (< X) or another threshold cannot be confirmed against the limit.
- NO LIMIT / NOT MEASURED — a value with no limit set, or a limit with no value on the report.
Limits and accuracy
- Values, limits, and batches are compared locally; the extension does the same math with the same code.
- Mass units (mg, g, mcg) convert automatically. ppm, ppb, %, and IU compare only when units match.
- This is arithmetic on numbers you enter. It is not dosing, medical, or safety guidance.
